How to Run a DPP and RFID Pilot

A credible pilot should answer defined business and technical questions. Avoid demonstrating a code or reader without testing the complete workflow.

Define the pilot brief

State the product, target market, process, users, data sources, identity level and measurable outcome. Record what is outside scope.

Test the physical layer

Produce labels on representative materials. Test placement, durability, print and encoding quality, read range, orientation, density and interference.

Connect only necessary data

Use the minimum source systems and supplier inputs needed to prove the workflow. Document data ownership, validation and exception handling.

Validate and decide

Compare results with success measures, record failure modes, estimate production requirements and agree whether to revise, expand or stop.
